How can a brand workshop be conducted successfully and efficiently? The answer is: with the right focus on the problem. A clear focus and on what problem is to be solved in the workshop is the key to success.
A brand workshop needs a clear goal
You probably know the problem when planning a brand workshop. What content needs to be clarified and answered and what is the result we want to achieve? A brand workshop requires concentration and focus on the real problem. That is why it is very important to deal with the real problem before the workshop and not to focus on several unimportant problems in the workshop. Important problems could be not knowing how you want to be perceived as a brand with your startup, how to get more brand awareness or clarity on how and where you communicate.

A workshop to determine the problem
Once you know the problem your startup is facing, you can determine the goal for your workshop. But how can you measure whether the identified problem is really the right and important one? Here’s an example of how we prioritize the problem with our customers: Before each of our Brand Strategy Sprints, we have a Discovery Workshop that lasts several hours. In this workshop, we try to understand the current situation of the startup and what exactly the current challenge is.
We do this by having everyone who attends the workshop describe the current problem and write it down. For each problem, we develop two more questions. The first is: What are the implications of not solving the problem? The second question is: What are the benefits if the problem is solved? In the end, we use voting to decide which problem requires the most attention. With this prioritization, we go into the Brand Strategy Sprint with the goal of solving this problem.
